Geir Bergheim is the CEO of Genus, leading our team of professionals on a mission to help organizations through sustainable software. At age 32 he founded Genus based on a theory he had developed in the late 1980’s. Under Geirs leadership, Genus has evolved from a “startup with an idea” to a growing company with a cutting-edge low-code development platform.
Before starting Genus, Geir was a manager in Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He was the team leader behind the Norwegian Police Operations Support System (PO) for the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer (1994), where he employed several of the ideas from his theory. In 1995, this system received top honors at the Computerworld Smithsonian Awards Program in Washington D.C.
Geir holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
“Genus is all about sustainable software in a rapidly changing world. Software must be flexible enough to absorb changes in how we do business, and it must keep pace with the technological evolution. At the same time, software must be built fast enough to be relevant and realize the value it is intended to deliver. I am proud to lead a company with so many talented employees, and together we will continue to innovate and challenge the status quo in our pursuit of better business software.”
