In general, Business Intelligence (BI) software helps your business make better decisions by providing you with reports, online analytical processing, statistical analysis, forecasting and data mining.

Genus is something more.

Our BI applications may in addition to all the expected BI-functionality include:

  • Budgeting.
  • Workflow support with action-oriented tasks and wizards.
  • Prognosis and forecasting.
  • Data entry for commenting reports.
  • Data entry for progress feedback. Experience entering progress data in the cell next to your budget data in a multi-user spreadsheet-like grid.

This is made possible since Genus is a general tool for making software applications. By using Genus your BI application can gather both structured and unstructured data in one place.

In fact, your Genus application shouldn’t be considered a BI application anymore – a better name than BI would be corporate governance, i.e. sufficient functionality to steer and control your entire corporation.

Genus has been used as a tool for delivering several BI-like solutions. We believe our solutions are preferred since we do not have the limitations of traditional BI packages.

Note that Genus is not an Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) package.
