Two types of training

There are held two types of training:

1. Training of end users. Training your end users in your specific usage of Genus Apps, i.e. your application model.

2. Training of modelers and expert users.
   1. Training your modelers in how to set up and maintain your application (model).
   2. Advanced use or development using specific technologies.
   3. Discovery: Training your expert users in how to set up and maintain analysis and reports.

Training of end users

We generally recommend to let your own people train your end users. By doing this you ensure local ownership and get valuable feedback. We recommend you to use our partners to train your trainers.

In addition, we offer a standard 4 hours course "Basic Navigation in Genus Desktop" which covers the basic principles and standard functionality of our Microsoft Windows client. Functionality covered includes navigation, search and explore, sorting and grouping, view customization, actions and keyboard shortcuts.

Independent of how you plan and execute your training, keep in mind that training is crucial for the success of a software application. Train on processes and not technology. Tailor training to your users roles. Consider hands-on training in addition to traditional off-the-job or web training. Do not stop training after deployment; continue training as your business evolves.

No training is not an alternative. Your people will be very unlikely to use your new application according to your targets and to its full potential, and the return on your investment will be low.

Training of modelers and expert users

We offer several standard courses as described below:

1. Foundations of Genus Apps (40 hours). This course addresses the basic concepts of modeling applications using Genus Apps. Participants will be introduced to modeling Objects (the data model), how to add logic using Effects, and how to design user interfaces using Forms and Tables.  This course targets modelers.

2. Genus Discovery (8-16 hours). This course will cover the basic concepts of Business Intelligence (BI) features of Genus Apps. The course will provide an introduction to "in-memory" analysis (including setting up data marts) as well as setting up predefined or on-demand reports. This course targets modelers and expert end users.

3. Advanced Course in Genus Studio – Data Structure and Logic (24 hours). This course will delve deeper into modeling advanced data models, logic and process support. Participants should have completed the course “Foundations of Genus Apps” in advance.  This course targets experienced modelers.

4. Advanced Course in Genus Studio – Genus Desktop User Interface (12 hours). This course covers the modeling of advanced Forms user interfaces for Genus Desktop, addressing performance, logic and advanced user interface controllers. Participants should have completed the course "Foundations of Genus Apps" in advance. This course targets experienced modelers.

5. Advanced Course in Genus Studio – Genus Apps User Interface (12 hours). This course covers the modeling of mobile apps and web apps in Genus Studio by setting up Forms for Genus Apps, addressing the use of app UI controllers and the logic behind. Participants should have completed the course "Foundations of Genus Apps" in advance. This course targets experienced modelers.

In addition, we offer tailored courses to suit our customers at a price per hour. This can be courses targeting your specific solution (application model), or it can be general courses of desired duration, topic and technical level.
