Release 2017.1

Analysis & Reports

The following Genus Discovery enhancements will be introduced in a beta version, restricted to selected partner projects:

  • New Analysis Designer in Genus Desktop.
  • Analysis Viewer available on web in addition to Genus Desktop.
  • General performance improvements and support for larger Data Marts.
  • New Analysis View Layout concept, designed to facilitate cross platform use. Note that this requires a re-design of view layout for (all) existing analyses.

Analysis Viewer on web is restricted to evergreen browsers. The term "evergreen browser" refers to web browsers that are automatically upgraded to future versions. We consider Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari to be evergreen browsers. Internet Explorer 11 and older versions are not considered evergreen.

Symbols marked as deprecated in the previous release has been removed from the symbol library.

Add to Home screen is now supported for Genus Apps for Web on iOS and Android.

Tokenizer Edit: New desktop control for editing multi object references.

The Rich Text Edit and HTML Edit control now supports editing inside a form. This functionality replaces the stand-alone text editor window.

Markdown Viewer: New desktop control which renders and displays markdown text inside a form. In addition the Application Platform Language has been extended with support for converting markdown to HTML.

Support for reporting page hits and events to Google Analytics in Genus Apps for Web.

General performance improvements.

Introducing support for exposing RESTful services based on the OpenAPI Specification (Swagger). The specification may be represented in JSON or YAML, while request/response data elements may be in JSON or XML.

Genus App Platform now  utilize database statistics for optimizing database queries. We therefore recommend to verify your application's database maintenance procedures, making sure that the database statistics are kept regulary up to date.

Please note that our support for Internet Explorer 11 and older versions may be removed in a future release based on general browser usage.
