Optimized BLOB Streaming on ORACLE
21/03/2012 by Einar Bleikvin
Reading large objects, for example BLOB or CLOB, from the database can be memory intensive operations, and sometimes performance can be improved by reading the data in chunks. Reading large objects in chunks, on the other hand, can lead to an increase in connections to the database, especially if there are many concurrent users. The optimal behavior is therefore different from one Genus Logix application to another, and this behavior can therefore be modified by defining certain properties in the Genus Logix Services app.config or web.config files.
