Today, the Republic of Macedonia and Genus AS signed an agreement for establishing an Anti-Money Laundry Application for the Macedonian Financial Investigation Unit.
- We have been working with the Macedonian Financial Intelligence Unit for the last two years to establish a solid platform of cooperation. In this process we have experienced the Macedonian openness and eagerness to make a huge step forward in using our state-of-the-art model-driven technology. We appreciate being chosen to participate in this with the highly competent team at the Macedonian Financial Intelligence Unit, Mr. Geir Bergheim, Chairman of the Board of Genus AS, said during an official signing ceremony in Skopje today.
Director Vladimir Atanasovski of the Financial Intelligence Unit signed the agreement on behalf of the Republic of Macedonia.
The project is a part of a bilateral development cooperation between the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Republic of Macedonia, as part of a larger grant scheme to support peace and state building projects in the Western Balkans.

Genus AS is the main vendor behind a similar software application (named ASK) delivered to ØKOKRIM in 2008. ØKOKRIM will provide the Macedonia Financial Investigation Unit with experienced support. ØKOKRIM is the Norwegian National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime.
A news clip from the signing on Macedonian TV is found here (at the bottom of the page). It is in Macedonian, but quite informative even for our non-Macedonian audience.
